Ali Fedotowsky Opens Up About Her Split with Roberto Martinez

Reality star Ali Fedotowsky is finally opening up about her public breakup with fiancé Roberto Martinez.

The fan favorite Bachelorette star announced to her fans via Facebook that she and Martinez have broken up after about 18 months of being together and three canceled wedding dates.

The 27-year-old, who left Facebook to appear on The Bachelor, decided to open up with E! News where she admitted it wasn’t just one sticking point or some huge blow out fight that made her and 28-year-old insurance agent, Martinez, to call off the wedding and break up for good.

Fedotowsky said there wasn’t a moment or incident where they just realized that marriage wasn’t going to work for the couple. “We were really trying to make it work, and realizing it wasn’t getting better,” she admitted in the interview.

After Martinez proposed during the season six finale of The Bachelorette back in 2009, the couple moved to his hometown in San Diego. According to Us Magazine a pal said the couple had a “tumultuous” relationship from the very beginning.

Whether or not this is true, the reality start-turned TV personality said that they weren’t happy. “We were unhappy more than we were happy, and something needed to change…I didn’t want to let people down.”

Even her fans weren’t happy. “I felt anger from my followers, fans,” she said. “The pressure was to make sure we did what would make both of us happy.”

After sometime since the split, things are different and she’s in a much happier place. “For the first time in my life. I’m happy with me and who I am and being single,” she said.
