World of Warcraft ‘Scroll of Resurrection’ Updated With New Rewards

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to dive back into World of Warcraft, the new “Scroll of Resurrection” perks just might be the thing to pull you back in.

Blizzard sent word yesterday that, effective right now, players who send a friend with a lapsed World of Warcraft subscription a Scroll of Resurrection will be able to receive a free mount: A Gryphon for Alliance characters, or a Windrider for Horde.

That’s well and good for existing players, but what players who have taken a hiatus from World of Warcraft will be interested in is what they get out of the deal, and it certainly sounds quite tempting.

If you accept a Scroll of Resurrection, you’ll have the option to instantly boost one character’s level all the way up to level 80, regardless of what level they were. Perhaps even better than that, accepting the scroll will upgrade your account to Cataclysm, meaning that if you haven’t played since vanilla World of Warcraft, you’ll get all expansions at no cost.

In addition to that, Blizzard will be giving you 7 free days of game time, and the option to transfer your character over to the Scroll of Resurrection inviter’s realm. And, if your friend happens to be on the opposing faction, Blizzard will be throwing in a free faction change as well.

There are, of course, a few catches. For more on the new World of Warcraft Scroll of Resurrection bonuses, you can head over to Blizzard’s handy FAQ at this link.
