Why Chris Soules Won’t Watch Kaitlyn Bristowe On ‘The Bachelorette’

Chris Soules made his reality television debut as the farmer after Andi Dorfman’s heart on The Bachelorette. After giving the final rose to Whitney Bischoff on his own season of The Bachelor, he’s stayed with reality television as a contestant on this season of Dancing with the Stars.

Since Chris has a long history with the Bachelor franchise and knows this upcoming season’s two bachelorettes — Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson — very well, one might assume he’ll be cuddling up to Whitney on the couch and taking in the entertainment.

Not so. Soules told People magazine this week that he has no plans to watch The Bachelorette. Apparently, “Prince Farming” wants his life back.

“I’ve always thought it would be great to see Kaitlyn have the opportunity. She really deserves it. They both deserve to find somebody. But I never watched before. I don’t know if I plan to going forward. I’m trying to be me again.”

His fiance, Whitney, apparently feels differently.

“I’ve watched every season except ours, so I’m ready to watch again.”

Viewers of The Bachelor will recall Soules’ very emotional goodbye to Bristowe, who was sent home in third place. His initial chemistry with Nilsson eventually soured somewhat, and Britt left before Soules could deny her a rose during the ceremony.

Kaitlyn Bristowe has not officially been named the sole Bachelorette, but spoilers from the show, which is currently being taped, reveal she beat out Britt Nilsson for the opportunity to be the one giving out roses. The twist of this year’s Bachelorette is that the two women will initially compete for the title before proceeding to weed out suitors.

Meanwhile, Soules is trying to impress the judges on Dancing with the Stars. He’s fallen short the past few weeks, despite being paired with the show’s reigning champion, Witney Carson.

The pair apparently let off some steam this week, as the Daily Mail caught them dancing at a Star Magazine party on Wednesday. The website made much of the fact that Carson removed her jacket to reveal a crop top and bare midriff as Soules looked on. Turns out, Bischoff was not far away and even posed for a picture with the DWTS couple.

Both Soules and Bischoff are taking a “one step at a time” approach to their relationship, as Bischoff revealed to Us Weekly.

“[We] definitely [want kids], so one step at a time: ‘Dancing,’ the move to Iowa, the wedding, and eventually a family.”

Soules echoed his fiance’s sentiment.

“We’re just being happy — this isn’t real life yet. ‘The Bachelor,’ for us, wasn’t real, really. It was a crazy vacuum situation. We’re just looking forward to getting into our normal lives. Then we can talk about wedding planning!”

Dancing with the Stars airs Monday nights on ABC. The new season of The Bachelorette is set to get underway in May.
