Sarah Palin Defends Rush Limbaugh Over ‘Slut’ Comments

Sarah Palin has leaped to the defense of the embattled Rush Limbaugh, after the conservative radio host apologized for making verbal attacks against a law student who advocated for contraception coverage.

For those catching up, Limbaugh recently called Sandra Fluke, a student at Georgetown Law School, a “slut,” after she was called as a democratic witness to discuss the new contraception rule being fought over between Obama and the Republicans. Limbaugh’s reasoning ran thus:

“What does it say about the college co-ed Susan Fluke [sic] who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex — what does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She’s having so much sex she can’t afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. ok, so she’s not a slut. She’s round-heeled.”

Limbaugh later apologized, because he’s a real civil guy after alladvertisers on his radio show started jumping ship.

But Palin doesn’t think Limbaugh should have apologized. In an interview with CNN, the former Alaska governor claimed the outrage over Limbaugh’s comments was primarily fueled by the nasty old left, who apparently also hate the disabled and women or something:

“I think the definition of hypocrisy is for Rush Limbaugh to have been called out, forced to apologize and retract what it is he said in exercising his first amendment rights-and never is that, the same, applied to the leftist radicals who say such horrible things about the handicapped, about women, about the defenseless.”

One can only assume Palin thinks calling an opponent a “slut” and a “prostitute” is a reasonable remark in supposedly mature political discourse.
