College virginity rates by study major

Okay this might only be one college – Wellesley College – but hey statistics are statistics so let’s roll with them. Here’s some highlights that you might find on the interesting side should you be planning a stint at a college sometime soon

1. 0% of students with ‘studio arts’ major are virgins

2. Virginity rates for Spanish major (43%) is much lower than virginity rates for English and French majors (50%)

3. There is evidence that geeks get laid the least in college. Check out the rates for Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics.

  4. There is also evidence that geeks do NOT get laid the least, as computer science has only a 40% virginity rate.

    The hilarious thing is that I'm a fourth year studio art major and still a total virgin. Looks like the findings are off by at least a tad. :P

  6. The clearest reason not to take this too seriously is that neuroscience and biology are on completely different sides of the graph, since neuroscience is a subfield of biology.

    But I am curious how much more popular the studio arts people have been in the dating scene at Wellesley after this came out…. lol. Then again max enrollment there is 2,300 – so, this theoretically could have been someone's project entitled “percent of people I've slept with by major”….. lol.
