Katie Hopkins: Britain’s Vilest Woman Is Happy To See 400 Migrants Die

Katie Hopkins has made a career out of courting publicity by making hate-filled and spiteful comments in her newspaper column and on social media. In a week when over 400 migrants, including many children, are feared drowned in the Mediterranean sea after their boat from Libya capsized, Katie Hopkins has claimed that she was happy to see people fleeing poverty and war die.

According to the Mirror, Katie Hopkins used her column in Britain’s Sun newspaper to claim that she “doesn’t care” about migrants dying while trying to cross the Mediterranean sea to reach Europe from North Africa. Hopkins even claimed that she would not be moved even if she saw “coffins and bodies floating in water.”

According to the Irish Examiner, Katie Hopkins called migrants fleeing war zones like Libya and Afghanistan”feral humans”and compared them to cockroaches.

“Hopkins said, ‘Some of our towns are festering sores, plagued by swarms of migrants and asylum seekers, shelling out benefits like Monopoly money.'”

“Make no mistake, these migrants are like cockroaches. They might look a bit like ‘Bob Geldof’s Ethiopia circa 1984,’ but they are built to survive a nuclear bomb. They are survivors.”

Hopkins continued by saying “What we need are gunships sending these boats back to their own country,” and claimed that “Once gunships have driven them back to their shores, boats need to be confiscated and burned on a huge bonfire.”

Hopkins comments come just two days after dozens of children drowned along with around 400 adults when their boat sank. Over the past year, it is estimated that 170,000 asylum seekers have tried to cross the Mediterranean sea to reach Europe from North Africa. Over 3,500 have drowned making the attempt, something that does not appear to bother Katie Hopkins in the slightest.

Spiked points out that European governments are refusing to support search and rescue operations in the Mediterranean claiming that it is too expensive and that the operations encourage more asylum seekers to make the attempt if they believe there is a chance of rescue if things go wrong.

Unsurprisingly, Katie Hopkins’ comments have caused outrage on social media. Controversial comedian Russell Brand took to twitter to condemn Hopkins, saying that she “cannot love herself” if she was willing to be so hateful.

Television personality and talk show host Piers Morgan was also quick to condemn Katie Hopkins saying that “on balance I’d prefer to turn a gunship on Hopkins.”

Comedian and Little Britain star Matt Lucas also attacked Katie Hopkins saying that “[h]aving read her latest article, it’s hard to think of anything left for Katie Hopkins to do now, other than to just kill some people.”

Metro reports that not everyone disagreed with Katie Hopkins views. Apparently, some of her fans are attempting to support Hopkins by getting the hashtag #jesuisKatie trending on Twitter.
