Anna Kendrick To Release A Book Of Essays In 2016 — Will Write On Everything We Avoid Talking About


As of now, Anna Kendrick has been lighting up the media primarily as direct (or indirect) promotion for her upcoming film, Pitch Perfect 2. The Inquisitr reported on Kendrick’s promotion tour, in which the actress made a guest appearance on Lip Sync Battle where she “serenaded” John Krasinski’s wife, Emily Blunt, with One Direction’s “Steal My Girl.” Prior to that, Kendrick did a photo shoot with Glamour UK in which she went braless to rock a jeweled-nipple dress on the magazine’s cover.

With acting, modeling, and even a chart-topping song titled “Cups (When I’m Gone)” from the original Pitch Perfect movie as accolades, it is evident Anna Kendrick has a spectacular resume to boast. Now, Kendrick may add writer/author to it as reports tell she’ll be writing a book of essays to be released in 2016.

According to Huffington Post, Touchstone announced on Thursday that Anna Kendrick has signed a deal with a publisher, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, to pen a collection of autobiographical essays. It is expected for a fall, 2016 release, but until then, preliminary details about the book of essays were made available via statement by Touchstone, as reported by TheWrap. Kendrick’s book of essays will “amusingly recount memorable moments throughout her life, from her middle class upbringing in New England to the blockbuster movies that have made her one of Hollywood’s most popular actresses today.” Touchstone would further implement with the following.

“Expanding upon the witty and ironic dispatches for which she is known, Anna Kendrick’s essays will offer her one-of-a-kind commentary on the absurdities she’s experienced on her way to and from the heart of pop culture.”

Anna Kendrick already has a spectacular following that will surely look forward to her book. With 3.88 million followers on Twitter and 2.4 million followers on Instagram, it is possible that Kendrick’s book of essays will hit the New York Times best seller list in no time flat. Also, her social media accounts are the reason why a publisher wants to publish a book by her in the first place. Apparently, Kendrick is known to post whimsical musings that are both smart and entertaining.

Anna Kendrick also provided a statement pertaining to here upcoming book of essays, in which most of what she said was very entertaining to read.

“I’m excited to publish my first book, and because I get uncomfortable when people have high expectations, I’d like to use this opportunity to showcase my ineptitude, pettiness, and the frequency with which I embarrass myself. And while many of my female inspirations who have become authors are incredibly well-educated and accomplished comedy writers, I’m very, very funny on Twitter, according to Buzzfeed and my mom, so I feel like this is a great idea. Quick question: are run-on sentences still frowned upon? Wait, is ending a sentence with a preposition still frowned upon? I mean, upon frowned? Dammit!”

As of now, Anna Kendrick is busy making guest appearances in promotion of Pitch Perfect 2, more so now that it is less than a month away from release. The sequel to the popular cult classic of 2012 will be in theaters on May 2.
