Hilary Duff Documents Her Coachella Trip As She Plays Catch Up In The Changing Music Industry

Hilary Duff attended the Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival last weekend. The Younger star took to Instagram to document some of her trip.

Duff took a road trip with some of her close girl friends. She shared a photo of the open road on Friday, April 10. Duff captioned the photo: “This only means one thing…..#Coachella”

The former Disney star was also spotted showing off her toned legs at the popular music festival. Hilary gave the cameraman a smile and the peace sign as she enjoyed listening to some of the artists and bands play. She wore a brown sheer blouse with a brown bikini top underneath, and ripped denim cutoff shorts. Hilary accessorized her look with a black floppy hat and brown booties.

That wasn’t the first that she was spotted at Coachella. Hilary also showed off her toned legs on Saturday afternoon. This time she wore a sleeveless white top with black and white stripes with her denim distressed shorts. Hilary kept her turquoise “mermaid hair” covered under a brown wide-brim hat, according to the Daily Mail. She paired her look with a turquoise beaded necklace, Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses, and a bird pendent necklace. Hilary then pulled it all together with a black leather fringe handbag and her brown booties.

The actress and singer admits that she has a lot of catching up to do in the music business. Duff revealed in a recent interview that she can’t believe how fast-paced it is.

“When I first started it was all about selling records and I was lucky to sell a lot. Now it’s just different.”

The “Sparks” singer admits that she does feel insecure about entering the music business this time around. She used to have huge success with Top 40 hits and platinum-plus albums like Hilary Duff and Metamorphis on Hollywood Records, according to The Washington Times. This time, Hilary is signed onto RCA Records, which is home to Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Miley Cyrus. She admits that she feels pressures to sell like used to.

“Coming back into it for me has been a big learning experience and it’s a lot of anxiety. I want to stay true to myself. I want to have a specific message. I want to give my fans what they want to hear. I want to be competitive.”

She also said that she’s finding it hard to juggle careers at the moment. Duff currently stars on TV Land’s Younger, which airs on Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. Even though she wants to sing and act, she realizes that she has to hustle to stay on top of the music charts.

“Obviously I want my music on the radio and I want my record to do well, but I also have a totally different career, so a lot of people who are in music are just in music and can dedicate all their time to that and I can’t do that, so I really want to have both things and I’m just trying to figure out how.”

The singer says that she finds the music business “hard as hell” these days. Hilary previously released “Chasing the Sun” and “All About You,” which had little success on the radio. She plans to release her eighth full-length album later this summer. Hilary says that she feels she needs to better understand technology to keep up with the music business.

“It’s a really, really tough game. I haven’t quite figured that one out yet. I’m also very challenged when it comes to technology, so when I’m sitting in label meetings and they’re like, ‘Oh, we’re gonna stream this’… my brain starts to like fizzle, fizzle, fry. I’m like, ‘What is happening right now?'”

“The world is so, so different and I’m trying to keep up, but I sound like I’m 50, but it’s just a new world.”

What are your thoughts on Hilary Duff’s comeback album? Do you think she’ll be able to keep up in a fast-paced music industry?
