A child abduction has taken place and an Amber alert has been requested in the case of a missing 2-year old boy who was kidnapped while his mother was tied up. MyNorthwest.com is reporting that little Ronnie D. Tran, age 2, was kidnapped, along with his 40-year old mother and taken to a home in the city of Fife.

Very few details are known about the child abduction case, but authorities say they were told by the mother that she was in her own home in the 24400 block of 13 Place South in Des Moines, Iowa, when two women that she knew entered the home, tased her with a stun gun, and later bound her hands with plastic ties. When she came to, she discovered that she was tied up in an outside garage at a home in Fife, Washington.

The innocent toddler had been taken inside the home by the two women. The Asian mother was able to break free and call family members for help.

Though the local police has not indicated a motive in the kidnapping, it is believed that the abduction is related to domestic problems between the mother and the biological father, whom police say is not cooperating with law enforcement officials or the investigation into his son’s disappearance.

Now, police are looking for the two women, who are now believed to be family members. Community members should be on the look out for anyone driving a Hyundai Sonata 2005 in color blue. The Washington issued license plate reads: AMB9450.

According to King5, One of the kidnappers is a middle aged- Asian woman with black hair. She stands 5ft 3 in. tall and weighs around 105 pounds. The other woman, Vien Nguyen, is the 65-year old grandmother of Ronnie Tran. The missing child was last seen wearing brown pants and white shirt. The Tran and Nguyen families are originally from Vietnam.

The case is reminiscent of another grandmother abduction case involving a small boy. In that case, the grandmother snatched her own grandson because she thought the mother was living a bad life style. The kidnapping case was made into a true story movie in 1996 entitled “A Kidnapping In The Family” starring Kate Jackson. It was inspired by the Unsolved Mysteries story about Pat Farmer.
