Taylor Swift Considers Getting Another Cat As ‘1989’ Has Another Great Sales Week

Taylor Swift has it all. She has a hot career, a well-liked boyfriend, and even performed with the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna. But what Taylor Swift wants is another cat, despite the fact she already has two. Us Magazine explains the deal.

“The ‘Blank Space’ singer, 25, recently revealed on Live With Kelly and Michael that she asked her friends if she should get a third cat, after already caring for felines Meredith and Olivia. ‘They’re like, No. Three cats is a cat lady, two cats is a party,’ she quipped of their advice.”

It’s a good thing that cats don’t require as much care as dogs, because Taylor Swift has been incredibly busy lately. The work is paying off as Hits Daily Double shows 1989 as the fourth biggest selling album in the country this week. It’s difficult to tell what number the album will chart at in Billboard‘s Billboard 200 album chart since it now adds streaming to the chart equation, something which Taylor Swift will be low on.

As everybody knows, Taylor Swift has banned her music from the most popular music streaming service, Spotify. Time Magazine recently asked Taylor Swift why she left the popular music streaming service.

“Well, they can still listen to my music if they get it on iTunes. I’m always up for trying something. And I tried it and I didn’t like the way it felt. I think there should be an inherent value placed on art. I didn’t see that happening, perception-wise, when I put my music on Spotify. Everybody’s complaining about how music sales are shrinking, but nobody’s changing the way they’re doing things. They keep running towards streaming, which is, for the most part, what has been shrinking the numbers of paid album sales.”

Taylor Swift is currently on Jay-Z’s Tidal service. However, Bloomberg reveals that Apple is attempting to get Swift.

“The company’s in talks with the British group, which is set to release an album in June, about giving Apple limited streaming rights to a track, and has approached Taylor Swift and others about partnerships, according to people familiar with the matter. The idea is that exclusives will be bait for music lovers loathe to pay for subscriptions.”

Any company that makes a deal with Taylor Swift can almost guarantee a rise in sales from the product they are associating Ms. Swift with. Swift is one of those rare artists whose sweetheart image can’t be destroyed. Taylor Swift is on her way to becoming the richest female singer in the business.
