Apparently, the Batman v Superman trailer is coming even sooner than we had anticipated, if the latest report is correct.
This is music to eager fans who seem to have an interminable wait until the Man of Steel sequel hits theaters in March of next year. That is almost an entire year to wait and speculate.
Now, thanks to our good friends at Collider, news that the Batman v Superman trailer will debut this coming Thursday is making millions of fans giddy with excitement. The previous report indicated that the awaited clip was attached to Mad Max: Fury Road; however, there was also the possibility that Warner Bros. would release it sooner than May and here we are.
El Mayimbe from Latino Review, a very respected source, predicts a teaser of the trailer will debut online for all fans to rejoice. Collider confirms the story and adds that fans will be able to sign up to watch the trailer in a theater on Monday, April 20.
This is welcome news indeed, as we haven’t heard much of anything since production ended last fall. For most of the summer, fans got used to being up-to-date in all things Batman v Superman, when the cast and crew came to the Midwest to film, however, since then there is not much to report, until now.
The latest news also indicates the Batman v Superman trailer will be attached to Avengers: Age of Ultron, which held its world premiere Monday night. This is not confirmed, but it would make sense to hit the superhero crowds as they flock to see the latest Marvel blockbuster, which opens in the U.S. on May 1.
If you’re a geek, Thursday will blow your mind. Collider also informs us that director Zack Snyder himself will tweet the video of the new Batman v Superman trailer on Thursday, at 9 a.m. Pacific Standard Time.
This is an hour before his good friend J.J. Abrams and the Star Wars: The Force Awakens panel comes to the stage at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California. Here we expect to see the first trailer from that galaxy far, far away, as well as a first official poster. Are you still breathing?
As to what we can expect to see in this first short glimpse at a longer Batman v Superman trailer, it’s anyone’s guess. Will it be something like what Comic Con fans saw last summer or something completely different? Most believe it will show at least some of a first encounter between Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill). Will we finally get our first good look at Batfleck and his suit? Stay tuned and watch on Thursday.
