Ryan Edwards Is A Parent When ‘It’s Convenient,’ Claims ‘Teen Mom’ Maci Bookout

Ryan Edwards doesn’t have the best reputation on Teen Mom OG. Although he remains a part of his son Bentley’s life, he doesn’t always seem interested, which hasn’t sat well with fans — or with his ex-girlfriend Maci Bookout.

“What is it with Ryan that just makes him carry himself like this?” Bookout asked of Ryan Edwards during the Teen Mom OG: After Show.

Then, according to an April 14 report by Real Mr. Housewife, Bookout claimed Ryan Edwards can be a good father at times — but only when it’s convenient for him.

“I think [Ryan Edwards] cares when it’s convenient. When he has nothing better to do, and [then] some days he wakes up and I think he genuinely wants to be a good Dad and he really tries.”

Otherwise, claimed Bookout, Ryan Edwards will drop his parental duties at the drop of his hat.

“Anytime something that seems like more fun or something that seems like less work comes along, it’s easy for [Ryan Edwards] to use that as an excuse to not show up.”

Last week, as the Inquisitr reported, Bookout was just as frustrated with Ryan Edwards. During a Teen Mom OG: Featured Moment clip, Bookout explained that despite her attempt to have a civil conversation with Edwards in regard to the co-parenting of Bentley, she never gets very far with her ex-boyfriend.

“I don’t feel like that meeting gave any resolution to the issue. I really just don’t think he gets it. Sometimes, I will talk to him and I feel like he’s not listening, he’s not paying attention. He just doesn’t care.”

Bookout and Ryan Edwards were dating when they became pregnant with Bentley, but split soon after because of Edwards’ failure to step up as a father and potential husband for Bookout.

In the years since, Bookout has dated a handful of men, including Kyle King, who was seen on Teen Mom, and Kyle Regal, a motocross racer. Currently, however, she is in a committed relationship with boyfriend Taylor McKinney, who she intends to marry and is expecting a baby girl with in July.

Meanwhile, Ryan Edwards is involved in an on-again, off-again relationship with Shelby Woods. Edwards began dating Woods in the summer of 2013, and split in late 2014. Then, months later, as the season premiere of Teen Mom OG aired, he confirmed he and Woods were back on.
