Video of Peyton Manning Throwing Emerges [Video]

A video (below) has emerged that gives proof to the notion that Peyton Manning is regaining his arm strength and recovering on schedule from his neck injury. The video is the first proof that Peyton Manning may be ready to go for the upcoming season.

Dressed in his Colts helmet, shoulder pads and jersey on Friday at Duke University, Manning went through “an aggressive throwing session”, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen,

The report seems to hold water. Manning was in the crowd on Saturday night’s Duke-North Carolina game. Additionally,NFL.com reported that the video showing the throwing session is definitely Manning.

This is really going to make things interesting. Manning is owed a $28 million roster bonus if he is kept with the Colts past Thursday. Colt’s Owner, Jim Isray has to decide if he is going to pay Manning the bonus or let him become a free agent.

Mortensen’s report cited sources close to Manning who said that Manning has been instituting “aggressive” throwing sessions in shoulder pads and a helmet since Tuesday at Duke. Blue Devils coach David Cutcliffe was Manning’s quarterback coach at the University of Tennessee.

The report said Colts receivers Austin Collie and Dallas Clark and former receiver Brandon Stokley have worked out with Manning.

Isray is expected to use the first round draft pick he has to draft quarterback Andrew Luck. The question will remain will he keep Manning on board as a bridge to the land of Luck?

Most commentators believe that Manning will be in a new uniform next year.

Manning’s father, Archie Manning, said he hasn’t seen any problem with Manning’s arm as of late.

He said to the Indianapolis Star,

“What I’ve seen, he certainly looks fine as far as throwing and velocity on the ball. I did see him a couple of weeks ago; he was in New Orleans. I saw him throw, and he looked like Peyton. He hasn’t had any setbacks throwing. He’s been throwing for two months and has four or five (months) to go before the season starts.”
