New Trailer For ‘Terminator Genisys’ Reveals Twist That Finally Makes It Look Awesome

For a few months now, the trailers and information around Terminator Genisys have shown some flashbacks, old Arnold versus older Arnold, and a decent storyline. Some have been saying that they weren’t sure it looked that exciting, but a new trailer has unveiled a brand new plot twist and it just made the film awesome.

Some may not want to know this much about the film as the new trailer does reveal a good bit. No, it doesn’t have the ending shown or anything, but you may consider the plot twist reveal as SPOILERS to continue on at your own risk.

The Verge brought notice to the new trailer on Monday, and it is one that really shows a lot more about Terminator Genisys than what has been shown so far.

What we have seen is that John Connor (Jason Clark) from the future, sends Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back in time to protect his mother Sarah Connor (Emilia Clark) from being killed. The machines sent a Terminator back in time to kill her and prevent John from ever being born.

That’s what fans have known. Now, here is the new twist that was revealed by the latest trailer.

Not only was another Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and T-1000s (liquid Terminators) sent back to kill Sarah Connor, but so was…John Connor.

No, it isn’t the real John, but a mechanical one of some sort. As he states in the trailer, “I’m not machine…I’m not man…I’m more.”

Whatever he is, he’s stronger than any Terminator that has ever been seen and he’s got some of the real John Connor in him somehow. That means that for some reason, the real John Connor (or part of him) is trying to kill his parents – Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese.

Here is the official synopsis from Paramount for Terminator Genisys:

“When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…”

This new trailer for Terminator Genisys has made it go from pretty cool looking to absolutely awesome. Not only will the action-packed greatness of the franchise be brought back, but there will be a great new storyline that brings a lot of intrigue. The release date of July 1 can’t come soon enough.
