Rachael Leigh Cook Welcomes Son

Just a few months after they announced that they were expecting, actress Rachael Leigh Cook and husband, Daniel Gillies, welcomed the arrival of their son, Theodore Vigo Sullivan Gillies, on April 4.

“Welcome to the party, Little Buddy. We love you so much” – Rachael Leigh Cook via Twitter

Theodore weighed in at a healthy eight pounds, 14 ounces and measured 20.5 inches long. He is the second child for Rachael Leigh Cook and Daniel Gillies, who married in 2004 after a brief courtship; big sister Charlotte is 18-months-old.

Rachael Leigh Cook, best known for her roles in She’s All That, and Josie and the Pussycats, just wrapped up her role as Special Agent Kate Moretti in the TNT drama Perception. TNT announced that it was canceling Perception starring Cook and Eric McCormack after three successful seasons, much to the dismay of its fans.

Daniel Gillies stars as Elijah Mikaelson in both The Vampire Diaries television show, and its spin-off The Originals, both on The CW.

The couple announced in January that they were expecting, and confessed that it was a surprise, according to People.

“We’re as happy as we were surprised by this wonderful news! We haven’t slept since 2013 and welcome advice from all parents who survived Two Under Two”

Sleep deprivation doesn’t seem to be slowing down Cook. Just two days after welcoming her son, Us Weekly reported that she was seen grocery shopping at the Pavilions in West Hollywood, California.
