Gisele Bundchen Explains Why She’s Leaving The Runway

Gisele Bundchen is getting ready to walk down the runway one final time, and she’s opening up to the public as to why she’s finally ready to say goodbye.

After nearly 20 years as a successful supermodel, Gisele Bundchen will walk one final time during next week’s Sao Paulo Fashion Week, according to E! News. While this may be Bundchen’s final walk down the runway, this move isn’t being labeled as an official retirement. According to Yahoo! News, Bundchen has emphasized that she will not be retiring, but instead continuing to work on other projects.

In an earlier report by the Inquisitr, Gisele Bundchen’s sister and official representative, Patricia Bundchen, stated in March that Gisele wasn’t ending her fashion career, but instead “shifting focus towards special projects.”

“She is already cutting back on catwalk appearances and will bid adieu to shows in her own country during the Colcci brand presentation at Sao Paulo Fashion Week.”

Gisele took to Instagram to break the news to fans via social media with a photo of herself on a beach where she can be seen jumping over a big heart drawn in the sand with the word “grateful” written inside it.

“Thank you to all my dear fans who dedicate their time to leave a message here,” read the photo’s caption. “Thank you for all the love. A kiss in your heart and have a beautiful day!!!”

Fans of course took to social media to express their love for the supermodel.

As the Sao Paulo Fashion Week events draw ever near, Gisele Bundchen has spoken up and started giving more specific reasons as to why she is walking away from the runway.

“Automatically my body tells me if what I do is worth it, and it asked to stop,” she told the Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper via Yahoo. “I respect my body, it’s a privilege to be able to stop.”

Reports state that Gisele Bundchen still plans on continuing her modeling word by turning her focus to print ad campaigns and of course she plans on spending more time with her husband, Tom Brady, and her two children, Benjamin and Vivian.
