Emily Blunt Raps And Channels Janis Joplin, While Anne Hathaway Rides A Wrecking Ball In Lip Sync Battle [Video]

Former Devil Wears Prada nemeses, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt, left their designer heels and clutches behind as they rehashed their rivalry (this time with microphones) during Spike’s Lip Sync Battle on Thursday night.

The show, which is a spin-off from a segment on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, saw the two actresses channel their inner songstress while trying to crush each other.

Blunt started out with a behind-the-scenes rehearsal where she tried to impersonate Janis Joplin in both passion and attire.

“I feel like I was at the Woodstock after-party,” said host LL Cool J after her performance.

“I was trying to crush Anne Hathaway up here,” Blunt replied.

The Into the Woods actress then brought back some 1990s vibe with Blackstreet’s hit song “No Diggity” while busting a few raps and giving Hathaway a sexy lap dance.

Blunt’s performances were up against Hathaway’s reenactment of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” and Mary J Blige’s “Love.” In the end, Hathaway took home the winner’s belt.

Lip Sync Battle is the brainchild of Blunt and husband, John Krasinski — and they, along with good friend Stephan Merchant, introduced the game to Fallon, who later included it as a sketch on the Tonight Show. Then, due to the sketch’s popularity, it was later created as a half-hour program with guests like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, John Legend, and Common.
