Iron Chef Bobby Flay, And ‘SVU’ Star Stephanie March, Are Calling It Quits After 10 Years Of Marriage

Celebrity chef and restaurateur Bobby Flay, and his wife of 10 years, Law & Order: SVU star Stephanie March, are reportedly calling it quits, according to multiple sources.

“There have been problems for a while, so this was inevitable,” the source tells PEOPLE about the cause of the spilt.

“There’s still a lot of love there and no one makes Stephanie laugh more than Bobby, so this was hard for both of them. They’ve been living apart for several weeks.”

Flay and March were married in February 2005, after four years of dating, and even though a ten-year anniversary is generally something most couples celebrate together, Bobby chose to be somewhere other than with his wife when their special day came around. Flay was attending the Food and Wine Festival in Florida.

TMZ reports that the couple’s marriage hit it’s boiling point last year when March had to have her appendix removed. A source close to the couple reports that when March’s appendix burst, and she had to have emergency surgery, she was absolutely livid when Bobby told her he needed to leave the hospital before she was able to be discharged. Flay told his wife that he needed to leave for work, but that he could leave his assistant to help her out.

If Flay and March decide to file for divorce, this would be the end of March’s first marriage. Flay has been married twice before. His first marriage to New York chef Debra Ponzek ended in 1993, and his marriage to his second wife Kate Connelly, ended in 1998. Bobby and Connelly have a daughter together named Sophie.

Fortunately for Flay, if he ends up divorcing March, he will have a lot of work to distract him from the drama that could surround such a public break-up. Currently, Bobby is staring on the Food Network shows, Beat Booby Flay, All-Star Academy, a few cooking shows and he is still one of most challenged Iron Chef’s on the hit show Iron Chef America.

Bobby also has several restaurants to keep him busy including Mesa Grill in Las Vegas, and the Bahamas, Bar American in Manhattan, Bobby Flay Steak in New Jersey and Bobby’s Burger Palace in several locations.

Representatives for both Flay and March have declined to comment about the status of their relationship, but sources are coming forward, and telling the press that both parties have already found attorneys, and are planning on going forward with the divorce.
