WWE News: Chris Jericho To Do More ‘Live With Chris Jericho’ Specials On WWE Network?
After much anticipation, former six-time World Heavyweight champion and podcast host Chris Jericho hosted Live with Chris Jericho, a special on the WWE Network this past Monday. As it turns out, it was the first of many.
The Fozzy frontman took to his podcast Talk us Jericho this week and confirmed that he will continue to do these specials on the WWE Network. The interview specials will be hosted once a month for the foreseeable future.
“For all those of you guys who enjoyed the show, there will be more. Live with Chris Jericho is going to be a thing now. It’s a new show on the WWE Network once a month, exclusively on the WWE Network.”
Despite fans criticism of Jericho and his alleged “company-friendly” attitude, the “Ayatollah of Rock N’Rolla” is happy with how his show with guest John Cena went. As Jericho says during the podcast, he has his own style and way of conducting his interviews and knowing which direction he wants them to go in.
“I think the conversation was amazing. Most of you do as well, I’ve gotten people are saying that it sounded like two old friends having a talk with each other and that’s what it was, I’ve known Cena for 13 years now.”
The 44-year-old native of Winnipeg took to Instagram to inform us that his special with Cena is the third highest-rated show in the history of WWE Network. Lofty numbers that rival the two podcasts done by WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Rumors of a strained relationship between Austin and WWE led to speculation that Jericho was deemed as Austin’s replacement for the special programs.
Additionally, as reported by the Inquisitr, Jericho is currently rumored to be Austin’s replacement on the newest season of Tough Enough. The reality series is scheduled to begin in June of this year.
When Austin conducted his podcast with his guests Vince McMahon and Triple H, he used the audio for his podcast the Steve Austin Show later on in the week. For those of us who tune into Jericho’s podcast, he confirmed that his show will be separate from the WWE Network specials, as he wants to keep both separate.
“This is an exclusive show specifically for the WWE Network. That’s the way I wanted it. Talk Is Jericho is its own brand and entity and Live With Chris Jericho is its own brand and entity.”
