Is Gia Growing Up ‘Way Too Fast?’ ‘RHONJ’ Star Has Assumed A ‘Parental Role’
Gia Giudice is reportedly being forced to grow up “way too fast” following her mother’s imprisonment. According to a new report, the 14-year-old is helping taking care of her sisters, and feeling pressured to help her family financially as Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Teresa sits behind bars.
“[Gia Giudice]’s balancing her home responsibilities with her fledgling music career with the group girl 3KT, and doing media appearances and interviews,” a source told Life & Style magazine, via an April 9 report by Radar Online.
Gia Giudice has had to “assume a parental role,” the magazine alleged, and began feeling the stress of her mom and dad’s $13 million debt after her family began “demanding up to five figures for [Gia Giudice] interviews.”
As a result, Gia Giudice’s grades are “slipping in school.”
“[Gia Giudice]’s just growing up way too fast. It’s way too much to ask a 14-year-old to bear.”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, this isn’t the first time Gia Giudice has been reported to have stepped into a mother role for her three siblings.
“[Gia Giudice] is stepping into the mother role,” a source told Radar Online in January of this year.
“It comes naturally since even when Teresa was around Gia was frequently responsible for disciplining her siblings.”
Gia Giudice’s mom was incarcerated on January 5, 2015, after pleading guilty to charges of bank and wire fraud in 2014. Teresa is due to remain behind bars until early 2016, at which point her husband, Joe, Gia Giudice’s father, will begin serving a 41-month sentence, which he was dealt in October, 2014.
As Gia Giudice celebrated her 14th birthday, she was with her father and siblings, but away from her reality star mom.
“[Gia Giudice] is incredibly sad about not spending time with her mom on her birthday, but, like Teresa, she is very strong. She is going to put on the best face and enjoy her celebration — and she knows that her mom loves her no matter where she is.”
Gia Giudice is currently involved in a girl group, 3KT, which has released a couple of singles, as well as music videos, in recent years.
Earlier this month, Gia Giudice and her father were said to be in talks to star in their own reality series, along with Gia Giudice’s siblings. Although the series hasn’t yet been officially announced, E! News claims production on the show could begin in the next few months.
