Brett Butler To Play Recurring Role in Charlie Sheen’s ‘Anger Management’

Former Grace Under Fire star Brett Butler has signed on the dotted line to co-star in a recurring role in the upcoming Charlie Sheen FX series Anger Management.

The new show, a retelling of Adam Sandlers hit movie Anger Management focuses on Sheen as a former baseball player turned nontraditional therapist who specialized in helping people with anger issues.

In the show Butler will play a bartender at the bar/restaurant where Charlie’s character goes to hang out.

The matching up of Butler with Sheen seems like a good fit as she also gained national exposure when Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre cast her in ABC’s Grace Under Fire which ran from 1993 to 1998. Just like Charlie Sheen she clashed with Chuck Lorre and he eventually remained on as an executive producer while avoiding day-to-day handling of the show.

Grace Under Fire went under the chopping block after five seasons when Butler began an addiction battle with painkillers.

Anger Management, premieres back-to-back episodes on Thursday, June 28 at 9 p.m.

Also starring in the show is an impressive cast that includes:

Selma Blair, Shawnee Smith, Daniela Bobadilla, Michael Arden and Noureen DeWulf.

The show marks Butler’s first return to primetime TV.

Will you be tuning in to see if Charlie Sheen and Brett Butler can once again strike television gold with Anger Management?
