Kelly Osbourne Returns To MTV In First Move Since Leaving ‘Fashion Police,’ Will Host MTV Movie Awards Red Carpet Show
Kelly Osbourne is coming back home to MTV.
The daughter of Ozzy Osbourne-turned-fashion guru will host the MTV Movie Awards pre-show, interviewing celebrities on the red carpet alongside Jessie J and Josh Horowitz. It is the first job for Kelly since leaving E!’s Fashion Police earlier this year.
“It’s really scary and it’s really exciting. I get to be more creative and pick the questions and talk about fun things and not necessarily just be so focused on look,” Osbourne told People magazine.
Kelly Osbourne will now be returning to the network that helped make her famous, with her first big break coming in 2002 on the MTV reality series The Osbournes.
The move to MTV comes amid some big drama for Kelly Osbourne. She quit her job at Fashion Police after co-host Giuliana Rancic stirred controversy when she commented during an event that a dreadlocked Zendaya probably smelled like weed as she walked the red carpet.
Rancic went on to make a public apology, but both Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin left the show.
Rancic later explained that the joke was written for her and that when she made the comment before they went to air, no one seemed to have a problem with it. She also hinted that the show may have been edited to take the joke out of context and make it look worse.
Kelly Osbourne seemed to take offense to that statement, tweeting a cryptic message that appeared to be aimed at Rancic.

The drama heightened when Giuliana Rancic appeared to respond.

Kelly Osbourne said after leaving Fashion Police that she wanted to take some time and put a lot of thought into her next move.
“I have been offered every single job you could think of in this time, and some of them I thought a year ago would’ve been my dream job, but today I don’t know,” said Osbourne, who People notes is also working on a book and has a number of beauty and fashion lines, among other projects. “I realized how consuming one job can be because that was my entire universe. When you remove yourself from that, you realize there’s more out there.”
Kelly Osbourne will make her return to MTV on Sunday, hosting the red carpet show before the MTV Movie Awards go live at 8 p.m. ET.
