One Direction To Snub Zayn Malik? Awkward!
It is pretty likely that just about everyone on the planet is aware that Zayn Malik quit One Direction last month. Unless you have been marooned on a remote desert island without internet access, you will likely be aware that the strain of constant touring and recording with the world’s biggest boy band has been wearing down Zayn for some time. Last month, just 16 dates into yet another 80-date world tour, Zayn Malik finally decided that he could no longer take the pressure and flew home to be with fiancé, singer Perrie Edwards.
Accompanied by the sound of breaking hearts all over the world, 22-year-old Zayn announced that he was quitting One Direction for good and left his erstwhile colleagues, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan, to continue their tour without him. Malik explained that he wanted a normal life, and in the early days at least, it seemed that fans, management, and bandmates alike wished Zayn well. Indeed, his management wished him so well that it appears that Simon Cowell’s SyCo immediately signed a contract giving them the rights to Malik’s solo material.
The remaining members of One Direction seemingly understood Zayn’s reasons for quitting the band and wished him well, but it hasn’t taken long for the cracks to appear. Last week, a report on the Inquisitr indicated that Malik was to be erased from One Direction’s official tour footage, and then a well-publicized social media spat erupted between Zayn Malik’s friend, Naughty Boy, and former bandmate Louis Tomlinson.
The Daily Mail is now reporting that none of Zayn Malik’s former bandmates have been in touch with the Bradford-born star since they returned to the UK for a two-month break in their touring schedule. This has sparked speculation that Zayn’s former pals are snubbing him, especially after the Mirror reported that Naughty Boy attacked Louis Tomlinson.

“There seems to be some needless provoking going on. Louis was deliberately adding to the provoking. I don’t think that’s fair. Especially on Zayn, that’s not fair. Right now, there needs to be calm. He could have said that to be privately. Doing it openly is another act of provocation that’s not needed.”
A spokesperson for One Direction denied there was any kind of rift, insisting that Louis, Liam, and Niall have simply been too busy to hook up with Zayn.
“Three of the band only just arrived back in the UK from a world tour. How can anyone know what their social plans are for their time off?”
Meanwhile, Unreality TV reports that One Direction have been nominated for this year’s Billboard Music Awards and speculate on whether or not Zayn Malik will be invited to join them to accept the award should they win. No doubt fans of Zayn Malik will watch with interest to see what happens if this comes to pass.
