WWE News: Big Backstage Update On The Undertaker, Is Match With Sting Still Possible For ‘WrestleMania 32’?

At WrestleMania 31, we saw two legends wrestle and look great doing it. Both The Undertaker and Sting took on their respective opponents on the grandest stage of them all and looked terrific. Not only did Undertaker and Sting look to be in great shape, but they moved well and looked as good as they have in recent years. That is important, as both men could be part of WWE for some time as long as they can stay in good health.

The problem is that no one knows if they can. Yet, WWE is wishing so much for it to happen. According to Daily Wrestling News, WWE wants The Undertaker to come back for the next number of years. They obviously want him back at WrestleMania 32, but the feeling is that if he can remain healthy, they want him to keep coming back. However, WWE wants to put less pressure on him now that The Streak is over. The idea is that they will continue to push his matches down the card more and more each year.

Of course, this all hinges on Taker’s plans for retirement. Clearly, he won’t be in another WrestleMania if he chooses to say goodbye. He very well could have his final match at next year’s WrestleMania in Dallas, Texas. It would be a good concept, as it would give him his final match in his home state. The problem is, who would he face? Clearly, both Undertaker and Sting do want to face each other. WWE fans want to see the match as well.

So will it happen?

Sting revealed openly on the WWE Network in an interview after WWE RAW the night following WrestleMania that he’d love to come back if the WWE wants him. So if Sting is on board, clearly that leaves WWE as the one in charge of the decision to do something. As good as Sting looked leading up to and at WrestleMania itself, I think it is pretty obvious that he should come back. However, you never know how WWE feels sometimes.

Sting has not openly committed to working WrestleMania 32, but since he is open to doing whatever comes about, he will probably be there. Additionally, Sting does want a singles match against The Undertaker. If Taker wants it and really fights for it, WWE might give in and let us see the match.

True, this match would have been better if we were talking about it happening five to 10 years ago. However, now that both men are with WWE and both seem to look good, the match could still be very fun to see. Will it happen? Time will tell. However, fans want it. So WWE might give in, especially since they want to sell out AT&T Stadium next year.
