Back at CES earlier this year, Samsung announced its then-latest tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, but the company didn’t provide any details as to pricing. Thanks to a joint press release from Samsung and Verizon, now we know.

Samsung and Verizon announced on Tuesday that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, which the companies tout as the “world’s thinnest 4G LTE tablet”, will be made available exclusively on the Verizon Wireless Network starting March 1.

The Galaxy Tab 7.7, which runs on Google’s latest tablet-friendly OS, Android 3.2 (Honeycomb), won’t be coming cheap. Verizon says that the Galaxy Tab 7.7 will set you back $499.99 with a two-year contract. So what will you be getting out of that $499.99, aside from a sleek tablet running on Android?

According to the press release, you’ll be getting a 7.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display running at a resolution of 1280×800, the aforementioned Android 3.2 OS complete with support for Google Mobile Services such as Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk (with video chat), and more.

In addition to that, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 features a 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash capable of recording at 720p (1080p playback support included with adapter), a front-facing 2-megapixel camera used for video chat, and roughly 16GB of on-board storage with support for up to 32GB of additional storage via microSD card.

Will you be picking up the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, or are you more looking forward to Samsung’s recently-announced Galaxy Note 10.1?
