Adam Levine Was Terrified When A Fan Jumped On Stage And Attacked Him During A Concert

Adam Levine is used to be the center of attention as the lead singer for the chart topping pop group Maroon 5, but nothing could have prepared him for what happened Monday night, while the band was performing a concert in Anaheim, California. A woman who obviously got a little too excited to see the smoking hot singer, decided to jump onto the stage behind Levine, and then proceeded to grab him, completely startling the singer.

Levine was obviously surprised by the young woman, but instead of overreacting to her mid-concert intrusion, Adam handled things like a true professional and put his arm around the overzealous fan to face the crowd. The fans bliss was only momentary before security showed up, and promptly escorted the young woman off the stage.

The LA Times reports that Adam’s reaction after the incident was less than happy though.

“That was… weird, right?” Levine said to the crowd after the song ended. “She like cut my ear with her fingernail.”

“It’s just weird to be, like, in the moment, ya know? And you’re singing, and your eyes are closed, and you have this beautiful moment. And then the next thing you know someone’s… in your face. It’s super terrifying”

Adam continued on with the show like a true professional much to the crowd’s delight, but complaints from Maroon 5 fans about the woman who interrupted the show blew up social media. People were saying that the young woman was the reason security barriers were needed at concerts.

@STRAWBERRYradio “Why do this? it never works out.”

@hitsville A “tense,” “weird,” “super-terrifying” situation — possibly “dangerous” — that needed “defusing.”

Levine is not the first singer to be accosted on stage by a super fan. Country superstar Tim McGraw was performing his hit song Truck Yeah at a concert in Atlanta, Georgia when a fan reached out and touched McGraw on the thigh, and then she got even more forward when she slapped him near his crotch. According to the Inquisitr, that is when Tim instinctively reacted by slapping the woman away from him.

It’s very unfortunate for all concert-goers that some of these star-crazed fans attack celebrities this way, because it makes it even harder for the normal fans to get even remotely close to their favorite singers. Levine and McGraw are not the first, and will undoubtedly not be the last superstars that are ambushed on stage, but both singers handled things as professionally as possible considering they were being attacked by strangers.
