Taylor Swift Tops Beyoncé And Katy Perry In Billboard Music Award Nominations
Taylor Swift is the hottest name in popular music. You need more proof? Billboard announced its 2015 Billboard Music Award nominations yesterday and, once again, Taylor Swift came out on top.
“Taylor Swift’s 1989 has dominated the charts since its October release, so it’s no surprise that she also leads the just-announced finalists for the 2015 Billboard Music Awards,” the magazine said. Some of Swift’s 14 nominations include those for Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, and Top Social Artist.
Taylor Swift easily beat out pop rivals Katy Perry and Beyoncé, both of whom received three nominations. Meanwhile, Headline Planet knows what Swift’s next single will be.
“Taylor Swift’s ‘Style’ has only just begun to fade at pop radio, but Republic already has its sights set on her fourth ‘1989’ single. According to the label’s radio promotions website, focus is about to shift to a remix of album track ‘Bad Blood.’ The song formally impacts pop radio on May 19. Additional details, including the identities of any collaborators involved in the remix, have not yet been revealed.”
Meanwhile, ABC News reported that Taylor Swift had quite a fun Easter weekend.
“Taylor Swift had a busy weekend: She attended a star-studded party in Nashville on Saturday to celebrate the 25th birthday of her best friend Abigail Anderson, and followed that up with a family Easter egg hunt on Sunday. Swift, 25, who met Anderson during their freshman year at Hendersonville High School, shared a couple of photo booth pictures on Instagram.”
Taylor Swift is currently dating music producer Calvin Harris. The Hollywood Life recently quoted an alleged “source” that says both are ready to settle down.
“Calvin has enormous respect for Taylor, and he’s been incredibly gentlemanly towards her so far in their courtship. For that reason, her friends, knowing full well about his past reputation, are going to give him the benefit of doubt and trust him with Taylor. There’s no doubt that Calvin has always had a long stream of female admirers. He’s also been a bit of a player in the past – but he wants to do the right thing by Taylor.”
If Taylor Swift does eventually settle down, it won’t happen until her promotional duties for her album 1989 are complete. Besides filming new videos, Swift is preparing for her upcoming world tour, which will see her play huge stadiums in such cities as Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Paris and other places. It’s Taylor Swift’s world and we are just living in it.
