Kathy Bates Heads To ‘American Horror Story’ Season 5 As Hotel Owner
Good news for you Kathy Bates lovers out there. According to TV Line, American Horror Story Season 5 will see the return of the Misery actress. This will be Bates’ third season with the American Horror Story team.
Not only is Bates back in action, but she’s the owner of the hotel, which will be the center of all the intrigue for the upcoming season. Creator and producer Ryan Murphy broke the news per usual on his Twitter account to the excitement of many fans.

It’s not a surprise that an icon actor like Bates would return. After all, this season of American Horror Story took a huge hit when it was announced that cast favorite Jessica Lange would depart the series as she gears up for her retirement from acting.
As the Inquisitr reported, Lady Gaga will also be starring in the upcoming fifth season of the FX hit. This makes for Gaga’s first big television role, and her first regular acting gig. The singer has had roles in films like Machete Kills and Sin City: A Damn to Kill for, but this is a whole other beast that she’s going to take on.
In addition to Gaga and Kathy Bates, frequent Murphy collaborator Matthew Bomer will also have a large role in the upcoming season. Other cast members include, Chloe Sevigny, Wes Bentley, and Cheyenne Jackson.
So far the word is out on series regular Evan Peters, who up until now, has been in every season of American Horror Story. As far as we know, Sarah Paulson and Emma Roberts won’t be in the upcoming season of American Horror Story: Hotel. Roberts is busy filming Murphy’s Fox TV show Scream Queens, and Paulson will be busy as she’s committed to Murphy’s miniseries American Crime Story.
If anyone is going to hold down the fort for season 5, so to speak, it seems like Kathy is the best pick.
