Hello Kitty Ice Cream Cake Launches: Sanrio Partners With Rich Products Corporation

Sanrio, the brand behind the beloved Hello Kitty, has teamed up with Rich Products Corporation to bring an exclusive ice cream cake. The Hello Kitty ice cream cake is sure to be a hit at a lot of young (and older) kids’ birthday parties. The ice cream cake will be made available at major retailers such as Target and Walmart, according to The Daily Meal.

Rich Products Corporation is the company behind the Hello Kitty ice cream cake. The cake was created because Hello Kitty is still popular with both little girls and teenage girls around the world. The character has been a popular part of the Sanrio brand for over 40 years, according to Rich Products Corporation.

“Hello Kitty is one of the all-time favorite characters of young girls and women everywhere, and we are pleased to add a cake featuring the beloved pop icon to our portfolio of offerings.”

However, Hello Kitty is known as a gender-friendly cartoon character. It’s also been revealed that Hello Kitty is not a cat, but a little girl. Courtney Erickson, Associate Marketing Manager of Customer Shopper Marketing, In-Store Bakery & Deli Division said that she wanted children’s input on creating the Hello Kitty cake.

“We spent a lot of time listening to kids’ opinions. The children we talked to made it clear that they wanted a cake with some fun shape to it, which inspired this appealing, attention-getting look that everyone is sure to like. With its rich vanilla ice cream taste and colorful party sprinkles, this Hello Kitty cake will be a welcome guest for any occasion.”

The cartoon character was created in 1974 to help bring happiness and fun to people’s lives. Little did the brand know that Hello Kitty would also rake in $7 billion a year. The character also brings in $1 billion annual sales in North America. It’s been reported that 87 percent of young girls say that Hello Kitty is their “favorite character.”

“Hello Kitty is an extremely strong brand that we believe is a great fit with Rich’s values, culture and products. She has fostered a unique emotional connection with her ever-loyal audiences and has clearly influenced more than one generation in an impressive, positive way.”

The Hello Kitty cake serves 12 people and is available at select grocers such as A&P, Giant Eagle, King Kullen, and Wegman’s. You will be able to find this beloved ice cream cake in the frozen food section or the ice cream cake freezer case.

Hello Kitty is also partnering up with AC Milan, as previously reported by the Inquisitr. The Sanrio brand has partnered with the expensive clothing company to create “an exclusive co-branding project” along with a “sports clothing line and accessories for all female fans.” Don’t think that Hello Kitty is just for little girls. The partnership will be “aimed at the club’s female fans of all ages.”
