Rick Santorum Reaches Out To Democrats, Romney Slams “Dirty Trick” [Video]

Mitt Romney is furious with Rick Santorum for what he calls a “Dirty Trick” being played by the Santorum Campaign. Santorum released a RoboCall of a man who sounds like he is from the Labor Movement asking union workers and Democrats to come out for Rick Santorum. The RoboCall further slams Romney for his support of the Wall Street Bailout but not the Auto Bailout.

Romney said on Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity Show,

“Senator Santorum did something today which I think is deceptive and a dirty trick, which is he’s put an ad out there sounding like a labor ad telling labor folks and Democrats to go vote against me and vote for Rick Santorum. And at the very end there’s a little trailer that he paid for this, but it’s confusing people. It’s a new low in this campaign,”

Senator Santorum responded that he was finding it very hypocritical that Romney’s message has always been that Santorum would not be able to draw democrats then blasts him for reaching out to democrats.

Santorum told Hannity,

“You mean when he runs a robocall of my voice from four years ago saying good things about him, that’s not a low moment? … It’s a very positive robocall talking about what we are doing to create jobs in Michigan. Of course, you know, it’s interesting that he criticized me for attracting Democrats because one of the things that Governor Romney’s people say is, ‘Oh, he can’t attract Democrats.’ Well, guess what? We’ll wait and see.”

The Michigan Primary is open, meaning Democrats and Republicans can vote.

Romney is considering Michigan a Must Win primary. Romney was born there and his father served three terms as governor. A loss there would deflate the inevitability of a Romney nomination.
