Sadie Robertson Body Image Message: ‘Duck Dynasty’ Teen Makes Viral YouTube Video About Body Image, Faith

Sadie Robertson has a body image message for the world, and she’s not afraid to share it.

The Duck Dynasty star recently opened up about her struggle with body image, and revealed this in a YouTube video that went viral. According to ABC News, Sadie was “preaching to herself” one day when her sister said that she should make a video, and share her thoughts with the internet. So that’s just what she did.

“I want to tell you the reality of things: I struggle with jealousy. And I struggle with comparing myself to other people. I may be this ‘celebrity status’ or whatever, but I’m just like every single one of you. I am just like any other girl. I look in the mirror and I pick out the flaws.”

Sadie Robertson has a body image message, but she also has a message about faith. The 17-year-old went on Good Morning America to talk about how she deals with these body image issues, and says that her faith has helped her through a lot.

“I just think it’s like important for girls to know that it’s like no matter who you are, what position you’re in, you know, everybody struggles with insecurities and everybody kind of compares themselves to somebody else, if they want to admit it or not. And I just wanted people to know that it’s, like, no matter who you are you can’t reach it by, like, comparing yourself to other humans. For me, I found that it was through God was like the best way that I could do it.”

According to E! News, Sadie wasn’t trying to be overly pushy with her talk, but she did express plenty of concerns that other teens have, and she is proving to be quite the role model.

“The thing is, it’s like God is my rock for me. I’m not saying that you have to live that way. I want to share my message because if it can help somebody, it’s worth it. That’s just who I am. That’s just what I believe.”

Sadie has always been fairly vocal. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the reality star opened up about being bullied during fashion week last year. At the time, Sadie explained that the models made her feel “unwelcome,” and she talked about feeling excluded, which is something plenty of people her age have felt.
