Octavia Spencer Angers Fans At Children’s Book Signing

Actress Octavia Spencer reportedly angered hundreds of fans at a recent book signing event.

The event was held at a Barnes & Noble bookstore in Los Angeles on April 2.

According to Daily Mail, the Oscar-winning actress was there to promote her new children’s book, Randi Rhodes Ninja Detective – The Sweetest Heist in History by autographing copies and having a Q&A session.

However, Spencer apparently did not leave a good impression with a lot of the people that showed up. The 44-year-old actress was reportedly scheduled to sign books for two hours, but immediately complained about a small glass of water and the space that she was provided upon arriving.

In an interview with Daily Mail, former fan Angel Guzman opened up about Octavia’s behavior.

“[Octavia] was mad because the event coordinate gave her a small glass of water but she wanted a large liter of ‘good water’ and demanded to know why she was being treated this way.”

The report further claims that Octavia complained about foot pain, which eventually led to a questionably long bathroom break that left fans wondering if she was even still there.

“Octavia [Spencer] was mean, rude and horrible to everyone. Octavia’s answers were short and blunt and there were times she rolled her eyes to the back of her head like she couldn’t believe someone could ask such a stupid question. It quickly became a very uncomfortable situation for all of us.”

Guzman also claimed that Octavia’s behavior was poor during the Q&A session at the same event.

“Octavia’s answers were short and blunt… There were times she rolled her eyes…like she couldn’t believe someone could ask such a stupid question. It quickly became a very uncomfortable situation.”

As a response to the allegations, Octavia Spencer essentially laughed them off on her official Twitter page Monday.

There are also several photos and positive comments on Twitter that were made about Octavia Spencer at the same event.

Octavia Spencer has so far published two books in the Randi Rhodes series. The first, The Case of the Time-Capsule Bandit, was released in 2013.
