WWE News: Former-WWE Champion Batista Not Returning For WrestleMania 32?

The last time the WWE Universe saw Batista, former-WWE champion, was at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view in 2014. Evolution made a comeback to the WWE and feuded with the Shield leading up to Extreme Rules last year. After Batista, Randy Orton and Triple H lost to Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, Batista came on WWE Raw and quit the WWE.

Batista quit on-screen, but has presumably stayed under a WWE contract. He returned at the Royal Rumble in 2014 and won the Rumble match. From then on, he went on to main event WrestleMania to face Orton and Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. The rest is basically history.

One of the reasons Batista quit was to get active in Hollywood, as he had Guardians of the Galaxy coming out that August. Marvel’s major-motion picture is one of the most-successful movies in the last two years, and Batista’s performance as “Drax the Destroyer” fit perfectly. That being said, will Batista ever return to the WWE?

According to Daily Wrestling News, another huge movie coming out for Batista will likely derail any progress towards a WWE return in the next year.

“Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is now confirmed to begin filming in February 2016, which means Batista likely won’t be returning for WrestleMania 32 as he will be reprising his role as Drax the Destroyer.”

Batista is a wanted commodity in the WWE, according to an earlier report by the Inquisitr. The detailed report goes on to discuss a return at WrestleMania 31, where Batista would’ve competed in a retirement match. The former-WWE champion has gone on the record and said he wants to have his final match against his former-mentor, Triple H.

The storyline itself would provide great opportunity for the WWE to consider. Batista is great on the microphone and is able to wrestle a great match. Meanwhile, Triple H just wrestled in his fourth-straight WrestleMania, so the COO position isn’t harming his ability to wrestle huge matches. HHH’s bout with Sting was truly a fantastic spectacle that included great storytelling.

Batista is reportedly going to be in four-new movies in the next year including Bus 657, Spectre, Kickboxer: Vengeance and Highlander. The new Guardians of the Galaxy movie will also begin production next February. The WWE might want Batista to come back for a match against Triple H, but the former-WWE champion is following in the Rock’s footsteps and taking Hollywood by storm.
