One Direction Gutted By Zayn? Maher Compares Malik To Bomber As Twitter Explodes, Band And Cowell Comment [Video]
Is One Direction gutted after Zayn Malik broke little girls’ hearts around the world with his decision to exit stage left? Now as everyone from Louis Tomlinson to Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Niall Horan are voicing their views, Bill Maher is getting slammed for comparing Zayn to the Boston Marathon bomber, reported the Independent.
Maher complemented his commentary on One Direction by contrasting a photo of Zayn with a photo of the Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. In addition, Bill mocked the outpouring resulting from Malik’s announcement.
“I think after everything we’ve been through, I at least deserved the common respect of being told face to face,” joked Maher about Zayn.
“Just tell me two things, Zayn. Which one in the band were you? And where were you during the Boston Marathon?”
Ouch. Twitter immediately flooded Maher with anger. Some considered Bill’s bombshell to be a racist comment, assuming that he was using satire to comment on Zayn’s Islamic religion.
“I hope @billmaher is feeling the wrath of 1,000s of teenage girls in his mentions for his vile racist “joke” calling Zayn Malik a terrorist.”

So what’s life like for the boy band after Zayn’s departure?
“Gutted [but] 100 per cent committed,” summed up the group.
As for the creator of One Direction, Simon Cowell, it’s all business with regard to his social media visibility, according to Hello magazine.
Although Cowell is the one who saw the potential in having the boys join together after they semi-flopped trying to audition independently during the 2010 season of The X Factor, he took the departure in stride while taking time to thank fans.

“Sometimes strength is not defined by numbers. As always you the fans have shown your amazing support to all the boys. When you have great talent great things happen.”
But Harry Styles and Liam Payne focused on emotion in their social media posts after Zayn’s exit.
“All the love as always – H,” posted Harry.
“So glad to be in bed after a long and strange 24 hours,” shared Liam.
And Niall Horan revealed that the breakup is impacting his health, causing him to have insomnia.
So what was Zayn’s reasoning for the exit? He shared it on Facebook.
“My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I’d like to apologise to the fans if I’ve let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.”
As the Inquisitr reported, Zayn played a role in creating One Direction’s tour demands. While some members craved tea and others wanted games, Zayn was the one who requested a teddy bear for company.
