How Did David Guetta’s Dock Get Wrecked?

He’s serious when it comes to music, but David Guetta knows how to have a laugh otherwise. Guetta was all giggles after a boating accident earlier this week.

The 47-year-old French DJ, who recently released his latest single with Nicki Minaj and Afrojack, “Hey Mama,” off of his album Listen, was ready to head to a party with fellow musical friends DJ Tiesto and Martin Garrix in Miami on Wednesday afternoon.

The only hitch? They weren’t picking him up by car or limo, but rather by yacht.

As Guetta waited on his dock to be picked up, the yacht came a little too close. And by a little too close, I mean it crashed into the dock.

According to TMZ, “the engine stalled and they couldn’t stop the boat from barreling into the dock.”

What was Guetta’s response? According to EDM, all of the musicians, especially Guetta, “found it more comical than anything.”

Guetta was seen to “laugh hysterically, jump aboard the yacht, and head to a party.”

Luckily, no one was hurt, neither passenger nor innocent bystander. Not even the boat, David Grutman’s ’55 VanDutch yacht, was scratched. What experienced the most damage? Guetta’s dock.

According to TMZ, it’s going to cost about $30,000 to repair the deck, but “Guetta won’t make Tiesto pay for it.”

So how could Guetta and his friends laugh off so much damage? It’s easy when you’re bringing in “$300k to $500k for a single gig.”

Speaking of gigs, Guetta will have his hands full and not just with having his deck fixed. Guetta will be working on Martin Garrix’s upcoming documentary with Steve Angello.

According to the Bangin Beats, “Now there’s no idea what the documentary is about or who else it will be featuring, but it sure does leave us curious enough to imagine the end product.”

David Guetta, who has some upcoming performances in Las Vegas, is also set to perform at this year’s Coachella in California alongside such stars as Drake, The Weeknd, Clean Bandit, and Florence and the Machine.
