Kailyn Lowry Talks Payment: Did She Get More Money From MTV For Having Lincoln?
Teen Mom star Kailyn Lowry has been filming the show since the very beginning, and she wasn’t planning on becoming a reality star. Kailyn has never revealed what kind of financial compensation she gets from filming the show for MTV, but given the cars these mothers drive and the homes they can purchase, one can imagine it is a substantial amount.
Even though Kailyn Lowry doesn’t want to dish on her MTV paycheck, she does want people to know that she does not get more money for having a child. There have been several rumors in regards to how much these girls get paid, but Lowry hasn’t revealed any numbers.
According to a new Wetpaint Entertainment report, Teen Mom star Kailyn Lowry is now revealing that MTV did not encourage her to have more children, and Lowry did not receive more money from the Teen Mom crew to film with her second child, Lincoln.
Apparently, a rumor had surfaced that the Teen Mom stars would get more money if they had more children. The idea is that MTV would pay much more money for filming the family, as the girls having more children is great for ratings. Three girls have had additional children, including Leah Calvert, Kailyn Lowry, and Jenelle Evans. In fact, Chelsea Houska is the only one from Teen Mom 2 who only has one child. But Kailyn is setting the record straight.
“That’s the biggest bulls—t lie I’ve ever read,” Teen Mom star Kailyn Lowry revealed on Twitter after a fellow 16 and Pregnant star, Nikkole Paulun, shared the news article.
So, where did this rumor come from? Jenelle Evans’ ex-boyfriend, Gary Head, claimed that MTV offered Evans $20,000 to have another baby with him while they were filming. Jenelle has never spoken out about these rumors, but Gary doesn’t always have the best reputation. But Lowry is coming to the network’s defense; there is no financial incentive to have more children.
Even though the ratings may go up when a second child is born, it is possible that the relationships also help with the ratings. Lowry and her husband, Javi Marroquin, have been in the press lately over divorce rumors. Kailyn keeps denying it, but fans will have to see what they have been up to on the upcoming season of the show. According to the Inquisitr, Kailyn’s son, Isaac, recently lost his first tooth and it was nothing but a celebration.
