Megan Fox: ‘I Was Never The Pretty Girl’

Wallowing in self-pity seems to be all the rage with slebs at the moment. First we had Selena Gomez bleating about how terribly harsh life is as a millionairess with a famous boyfriend, and now Megan Fox has told MIAMI Magazine that she’s never felt all that beautiful.

“I was never the pretty girl,” pouts the actress who is also the face of Giorgio Armani’s beauty, fragrance and skincare campaigns. She describes her teenage self as “abrasive” and “obnoxious,” which, okay, is more plausible. She told the magazine she felt like a “loner” growing up.

Thankfully, unlike Gomez, Fox left the self-deprecation at that point, and chatted about subjects as varied as ancient civilizations and government cover-ups (“Come on! You don’t think everything that’s learned is released to the public, do you?”).

Fox also discusses how she prefers to do a wide variety of films. “I always try to choose something different than what I’ve done before,” says the star of Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Finally, there’s a chat about her latest film, ensemble comedy Friends With Kids. Fox stars alongside Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Chris O’Dowd, Jon Hamm, Jennifer Westfeldt, Adam Scott and Ed Burns, and says she’d “rather be with good people in a movie than the other way around.” She adds:

“Most of the cast knew each other very well already – Kristen and Maya are BFFs; it was such a nice, welcoming, supporting environment.”
