WWE News: Two Huge Title Matches Set For ‘Extreme Rules’ – Will Ronda Rousey And CM Punk Appear In Chicago?

WrestleMania 31 is now in the rear-view mirror, and it’s time for WWE to move onto the next big event which is Extreme Rules. On Monday Night Raw, some things were cleaned up and cleared out to make way for the SmackDown taping on Tuesday. That was where two big title matches for Extreme Rules were put in motion, but will UFC star Ronda Rousey be there?

Let it be known that there are some SPOILERS ahead for SmackDown, which is set to air on Thursday night. If you don’t want to know, then stop reading now.

The spoilers for SmackDown were reported by WrestleZone, and things have officially moved on from Brock Lesnar, but just for now. The opening segment will have Seth Rollins out with members of The Authority to speak about winning the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

Randy Orton comes out to interrupt them, and Kane puts him in a match to start things off. Orton ends up winning via disqualification after everyone joins in, but he is saved by Ryback.

A short time later, Kane is backstage and wasn’t happy that Orton attacked him, so he books Rollins against Orton in a title match at Extreme Rules. No stipulation was yet announced, but one likely will be soon.

Later in the taping, John Cena came out to issue yet another open challenge for his newly won United States title. Rusev the bull decided to answer the challenge, and he even called for his giant Russian flag, but Cena smiled as a huge American flag dropped down instead.

That paves the way for Cena vs. Rusev III, but there will also be a stipulation added to the match since it is Extreme Rules and all.

Now, one of the biggest rumors floating around is about UFC star Ronda Rousey and if she will be showing up again soon for WWE. A huge rumor actually going around is that both Rousey and CM Punk will show up at Extreme Rules.

First, there is the note of an ominous tweet from Punk with the date of Extreme Rules and the hashtag of “#NeverSayNever.” Then, Ronda Rousey tweeted the date and said “Chicago is not ready for this” and gave an “#ExtremeRules” hashtag.

Making matters seem even more realistic is that the 2015 event of Extreme Rules will be taking place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Punk’s home town. Well, don’t believe everything you read because even though it’s being shared a lot, it is just an April Fool’s Day joke.

Chances are that CM Punk will never set foot in a WWE ring again now that he has moved onto MMA. As for Rousey? It was obvious that she had fun at WrestleMania 31 and will probably end up in a WWE ring again some day.

While Ronda Rousey and CM Punk may not be at the next big event for WWE, it does seem like the card for Extreme Rules is beginning to come together. No matches have officially been announced yet, but title matches between Seth Rollins/Randy Orton and John Cena/Rusev are in the works.

Oh, by the way, Happy April 1 everyone!
