At least 10 people killed in Alabama shooting massacre

At least 10 people are believed to have been killed in a shooting massacre in Geneva and Samson, Alabama.

Among the dead are believed to be family members of the shooter, along with the child and wife of a deputy sheriff. The shooter is believed to be among those killed.

Reports from the scene said the man fired on a local Wal-mart, a neighboring Piggly Wiggly grocery store, and possibly passing motorists. Local officials are also believed to have called in the FBI to assist local police given the scale of the shooting spree.

Geneva and Samson are small towns near the Florida border.

    So sad.. 10 innocent people are again killed with no reason at all.. Whats with the gunman! Hope that the government would take steps to regulate the issuance of firearms to individuals.. Unless there be other remedies to stop these shooting incidents..

    This is likely an AK or AR-15 rifle. The MSM is using “30 round burst” to imply a fully automatic machinegun. I doubt this is the case (it's likely ignorant talk and it was a semi-auto neutered AK/AR-15), and while I pray for the victims and their families, I'm confident this is going to be used by political strategists as a way to push a new “assault weapons” ban.

    The government already takes considerable steps to regulate firearms with background checks. This could possibly be an illegally acquired firearm, so a new regulation won't do diddly squat to prevent another one.
