Selena Gomez ‘Was Unpopular At School’

Selena Gomez unpopular? Apparently it’s true – well, at one point. The teen star has revealed how she was “never the popular kid at school,” adding that she “just sat at the back of the room and got on with my work.” The 19-year-old star poured her heart out to the Daily Mail, saying:

“School is such an awkward time in your life. I was never confident in school. Nobody picked on me because my cousin was one of popular gang.”

Alas, since spending her school years as an unpopular nobody, life hasn’t got much easier for Gomez. I mean, despite being rich and good-looking and rich and being the girlfriend of a famous millionaire pop star and also being rich, her life is pretty harrowing, it seems. She explains:

“There’s a lot of rejection in this industry and it’s tough. There are also a lot of obstacles that you have to go through and it can be really exhausting.”

Thankfully, brave Selena is determined to push through, and delivers an inspiring message to the millions of other girls who probably aren’t as unlucky as the rich, famous and beautiful Selena Gomez:

“You’ve got to go for it. I still have people trying to bring me down, but I’m happy because I love what I do. Ignore the cruel jibes and stick with the nice people.”
