‘Community’ Returns to TV on March 15th

The hiatus is over. “Community” will be returning to NBC’s Thursday night lineup on March 15th.

Dan Harmon, the shows creator Tweeted the news earlier today. Harmon wrote:

“What you call 8:00, we call home. Community returns to Thursday nights on March 15th.”

“Community” was taken off the air in December to make room for the return of “30 Rock.” The cast continued filming the remainder of Season 3 as NBC said that it was just a temporary hiatus.

Deadline reports that “Community” will return to its original 8:00 time slot while “30 Rock” will be bumped up to the 8:30 slot. Parks and Recreations will be going on a short break until it returns to the lineup after “The Office” on April 19th in the 9:30 slot.

NBC will also be adding three new shows, Bent, Best Friends Forever, and the unscripted Betty White’s Off Their Rockers. NBC says that the Spring schedule will feature the highest percentage of original programming in the network’s history.

Are you happy that “Community” is coming back?

During the show’s absence, several petitions and videos have circulated begging NBC to bring “Community” back to the airwaves. Here’s a “Save Community” PSA from Donald Glover.
