‘Arrow’ Spoilers: Felicity’s Mother Returns, But Will Anything About Her Father Be Revealed?

Donna Smoak is back in Starling City in next week’s Arrow episode, 318, “Public Enemy,” but fortunately, she’s not going to be visiting her daughter in a hospital bed. Felicity is in the hospital, but she’s visiting someone else who is injured following the attack on the mayor’s office.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Oliver and Ray found out about each other’s suits in the latest Arrow episode. Ray’s first reaction was to go after the Arrow and deliver on the promise he hade made: to seek out justice on his own, when going to the police didn’t work since Laurel intervened, and stop the man he saw responsible for the recent deaths. Felicity tried to protest that Oliver hadn’t killed anyone recently, but it wasn’t until after Ray had already blasted Roy back that Oliver was able to stop him and get through to him. Then, Ray went to the mayor and began to explain that he thought the Arrow was being framed … right before Maseo attacked, putting an arrow through the mayor and seemingly aiming one at Felicity as the episode ended.

Photos and spoilers for the next episode reveal that Ray is the one who gets injured – is he hurt saving Felicity or does she move in time? – and Donna shows up at the hospital to offer her support. What Emily Bett Rickards told Entertainment Weekly confirms that.

“Mom comes back to town to take care of her baby because she hears something is wrong and she wants to help her baby out.”

If you were hoping that this mother/daughter reunion would reveal the identity of Felicity’s father, something which fans have been wondering about for some time now and someone who has only been briefly mentioned by Felicity and her mother in the past, you’re short out of luck, according to Rickards.

“We talk about him. He’s mentioned, but no.”

Ray ends up in the hospital because Ra’s al Ghul is determined to leave Oliver with no choice but to say yes to continuing his legacy, as you can see he says in the extended Arrow promo for “Public Enemy,” posted by Comicbook.com.

“You either ascend to the calling of Ra’s al Ghul, or you will spend the rest of your days in a cage.”

The SCPD, especially Captain Lance, has turned on the Arrow and his friends, and to make things worse, Lance gives a “shoot to kill” order.

It looks like this episode or the next could be the one that ends with the scene of Lance waiting when Oliver, Felicity, and Diggle walk in in the PaleyFest trailer.

Arrow Season 3 airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on the CW.
