Reese Witherspoon would love to be BFFs with Kate Middleton.
On Friday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the This Means War star recalled her July 10 meeting with the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. (Kate had been touring North America with her husband, Prince William.)
“She was really nice. She was lovely,” Witherspoon gushed. “She’s so composed. She seems like such a lady and I think it’s so nice nowadays to see someone with such nice composure who carries herself so beautifully.”
Prior to the meeting, however, Reese admits she was so nervous she couldn’t decide on what to wear.
“I must have tried on like six outfits,” Witherspoon, 35, explained to Ellen.
“I’m meeting a princess. You don’t understand. You have to be wearing the right outfit and the whole thing.”
Witherspoon said her husband, Jim Toth, teased her for being so excited.
“Whenever I am super excited about things, my husband calls it the double-barrel. That’s when I smile so big I look like a child,” Reese explained.
The 35-year-old is mother to 11-year-old Ava and 8-year-old Deacon, while Middleton is currently childless, but Witherspoon would still like to get to know the English rose.
“I don’t know, maybe we can be friends.I would like to hang out. I’m not sure she wants to hang out with me. I could see that happening.”
During the show, which aired in the US on Friday (February 17), Reese went on to look directly into the camera and jokingly plead to Kate: “Call me. Call me any time.”
