Britney Spears: Pre-Algebra Is ‘Not That Innocent’

Britney Spears seems to not be able to channel her mathlete from within. Many parents nowadays only need for someone to give them a sign, as it were.

Like Britney, if you’re a parent of a young child, you realize that certain, older academic concepts are becoming obsolete. For example, school boards have changed the way simple, basic math problems are solved — now using “common core.”

In order to keep up with her child, Preston, Spears has taken it upon herself to go back and take classes. Pre-algebra is one of those classes. Years ago, the typical eighth or nineth-grader took this mathematics discipline. However, presently — just as Britney is having to brush up on those skills — the standard has raised, and kids as early as fifth grade are beginning to take the course.

Spears says that Preston will be entering the aforementioned grade next school year. That only gives Britney little time to get herself ready to help him deal with all the homework, even more than they’re already doing per night.

According to an interview with People, Spears talks about her experiences at home with the boys. Regardless of her busy life, she makes time for them and the necessities of her family.

“My kids come first, bottom line. Homework is a priority. Some of it is hard for me. Next year when [Preston’s] in fifth grade, he’s going to be doing pre-algebra, and I’m taking classes so I know how to do it! We have a reward system that helps motivate them. If they get so many A’s, they get one toy a month.”

While Britney’s constantly learning how to best teach her children the ways of life, she feels that her sons are similar yet different. In the same article, she states as follows.

“Preston is very opinionated, very expressive, and if he doesn’t like something, he’s going to tell you. But he has a huge heart, he’s a good kid and he has manners … Jayden is sweet, very soft-spoken, kinda funny. He’s adorable — a momma’s boy.”

Even given her busy residency in Las Vegas, Nevada, it’s clear to see that her kids are her priority. As she mentioned in a brief interview with People, Spears has been on break with them in Hawaii. Also, it can be seen from Britney’s Twitter page.

With Spears returning to class, do you think there were other options she could have taken? Since Britney has a regular show in Las Vegas, do you think these classes will interfere with her work? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
