‘Girl Meets World’ Spoilers For Season 1 Finale, Renewal News: What Can Fans Expect?

The season 1 finale of Girl Meets World airs Friday night on the Disney Channel and it looks like it’s going to be quite the episode. This one is titled “Girl Meets First Date” and was directed by a very familiar face. What Girl Meets World spoilers are available for the March 27 finale? Will the show return for a second season?

Warning: Spoilers Ahead

E! Online shares that Rider Strong, who has played Shawn Hunter on both the current show and the original Boy Meets World donned a director’s hat for this one. Ben Savage, who plays Cory, and Danielle Fishel, who plays Topanga, both say they were thrilled to have Strong taking on this role in the finale.

Friday night’s finale will feature Rowan Blanchard, in the role of Cory and Topanga’s daughter Riley, looking toward having her first date. Naturally that big event does not come without some obstacles and challenges.

TVLine shares the Girl Meets World spoiler preview that seemingly sets the stage for the chaos that follows. Fans know that Riley and Lucas have been edging toward this first date for some time now, and it looks like it’s time to make it happen.

Farkle makes an offer regarding snagging a date with Riley that Cory has a hard time turning down, but Riley stands up for herself. In the midst of her strong response to her father, her crush Lucas makes a move that may change everything.

As much as Cory would love to avoid seeing Riley ever date, it’s happening whether he’s prepared or not. Another Girl Meets World spoiler sneak peek from Entertainment Tonight shows Cory agreeing to let Riley and Lucas go on a date.

However, Cory has one condition. He’ll let Lucas and Riley go out, but only if Farkle and Maya go on a double date with them.

Luckily, Maya doesn’t look too unsettled by the idea, telling Topanga she’ll fix things. The photos shared by ET show the gang dressed up and seemingly out for their big evening and fans can’t wait to see how it all comes together.

Is this where fans will be left hanging as season 1 ends? It might, but the good news is that the show has already been renewed and season 2 is on the way. It doesn’t look like a season 2 Girl Meets World premiere date has been released by the Disney Channel quite yet, but it doesn’t sound as if the gap between the two seasons will necessarily be a long one.

Tune in to the season 1 finale airing on Friday, March 27 to see Riley’s first date and then stay tuned for details on when the show will return. The big episode of Girl Meets World is part of a fun Disney four-day event that also features a special episode of Austin & Ally with guest star Maddie Ziegler of Dance Moms stopping by for some fun. Fans definitely won’t want to miss a minute of these great weekend episodes!
