‘Supernatural’ Fans Won’t Believe Who They Are Bringing Back

Warning: This article contains a major Supernatural spoiler!

Fans of Supernatural have seen many characters come and go. Some departures broke our hearts, and some characters just couldn’t go fast enough, but it seems Supernatural‘s most beloved character will be returning to Supernatural this season.

Some fans even feel they should never have killed this character off in the first place. Idjits!

That’s right. Jim Beaver, A.K.A. Bobby Singer, will be returning to Supernatural. This isn’t a plot trick, which might be the thought of some Supernatural fans at this point. Mr. Beaver will be returning in character as Bobby Singer.

In this season’s 17th episode, “Inside Man,” Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Castiel (Misha Collins) stumble on a case that requires some heavenly intervention and who better to help than good old Uncle Bobby? Although little is known about the facts of Bobby’s return to Supernatural, it does seem that Dean will miss Bobby. According to Variety, Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Rowena (guest star Ruth Connell) will be busy in a tangle while Bobby is helping his brother.

Fans haven’t seen this particular Supernatural favorite since he was killed off in Season 7. Bobby Singer took a shot to the head while he was aiding Sam and Dean Winchester battle the leviathans and, although he lingered on long enough to say goodbye and deliver one final message to his adopted sons, Bobby died. Jim Beaver lasted just a little longer, as Supernatural fans watched Bobby’s ghost hang on to this world, an act that would risk him becoming a vengeful spirit. It was with a heavy heart that Sam and Dean, convincing Bobby it was time to move on, said their final goodbye. The Winchester brothers were nearly as heartbroken to see Bobby move on as Supernatural fans, but, as is usually the case in the show, death is rarely as final as it is in real life.

Jim Beaver last appeared on screen as Supernatural‘s Bobby Singer in the Season 9 episode, “I Think I’m Gonna Like It Here.” As Sam was dying, Bobby appeared as hallucination, representing Sam’s subconscious.

In line with Supernatural‘s new timeslot, “Inside Man” will air on April 1. In the meantime, a new episode of Supernatural, “Paint It Black,” airs tonight on the CW network.

Currently, Jim Beaver is starring in a play which he also wrote, entitled Verdigris. The play can be seen at Theatre West in Los Angeles. Mr. Beaver will also co-star with Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska, and Jessica Chastain in Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak.
