Ryan Edwards Butts Heads With Maci Bookout On ‘Teen Mom OG’

Ryan Edwards and Maci Bookout have been struggling to co-parent their 6-year-old son, Bentley, for years on Teen Mom, and now, on the currently airing Teen Mom OG, they are picking up where they left off after Season 4 wrapped in 2012.

In a featured moment from the new season, shared by MTV on March 25, Bookout recalled the moment she met with Ryan Edwards’ mom, Jen Edwards, in an attempt to speak with her ex-boyfriend about their son.

“I think what’s stopping [Ryan Edwards] from communicating with me is, he doesn’t really think that there’s an issue.”

Even after meeting with Jen, Bookout was unable to communicate with Ryan Edwards, which was understandably frustrating for the pregnant reality star.

Also on Teen Mom OG, Bookout was seen feuding with Ryan Edwards after he failed to pick up their son at the designated time, which he claimed was never set up to begin with.

Bookout has feuded with Ryan Edwards for years, and while she has grown up and is now expecting her second child after settling down with boyfriend Taylor McKinney, Edwards appears to be stuck in the past. And not just that — Ryan Edwards also seems completely unwilling to work on his co-parenting relationship with Bookout, even from a distance.

“I think at this point, especially being on the show, once you’re constantly told that you’re a certain way — especially from the outside world — and fans [are] constantly telling him negative things, I think you sort of start to believe it yourself.”

Last week, as the Inquisitr reported, Bookout updated fans on her relationship with Ryan Edwards, claiming the tension between them is worse during filming. In a March 20 interview with TV Guide, Bookout revealed the following.

“The show does a good job of bringing up things I maybe push under the rug, so I just got so used to Ryan not being around and it was nice; we didn’t have to argue.”

Before filming, instead of going through Ryan Edwards to make plans for Bentley, Bookout instead communicated with his parents. However, once they began filming Teen Mom OG, Bookout was forced to interact with her former boyfriend.

Meanwhile, Bookout was busy with other things, including her career and college education — not to mention preparing for the birth of her second child, a girl, who is due this July.
