Actress Amanda Seyfried: Instagram Is ‘Sad’ But Taylor Swift Is ‘Pretty Hip’
Amanda Seyfried recently opened up about a variety of topics at the NYC premiere of her latest film, While We’re Young, a comedy that also stars Ben Stiller, Naomi Watts, and Adam Driver. Amanda spoke about her upcoming 30th birthday in December, her feelings on becoming a mother, and her opinion about Instagram users.
Seyfried told Us Weekly she thinks Instagram users posting pictures of themselves all the time is “sad” but does like to follow Taylor Swift on the social media website.
“[Younger people] spend the entire day on Instagram, and they also take pictures of themselves and post them all the time with a veiled brag. It’s sad.
Taylor Swift is pretty hip. She seems pretty honest. I think that’s hip. She’s promoting knowing yourself, and that’s the best idol.”
Seyfried does have her own Instagram account where she posts photos of her dog, Finn, and beautiful scenery from the places she gets to go. Amanda was recently in Paris and posted this photo of herself with a kitten.

Since 2013, Seyfried and actor Justin Long have been dating. Amanda hinted whether she sees herself becoming a mother sometime in the future when speaking with Us Weekly.
Amanda said, “I think it’s an important chapter. There are some people who just know innately what they are, what they’re capable of. Yeah, it seems natural.”
With her 30th birthday coming up in December, Seyfried said when she thinks about turning 30, she wonders where the time has gone.
“I’m turning 30 and sometimes I think, ‘God, where did the last decade go?’ I would kill to be 20. Life is short. Every year I think more about my mortality.”
With all of the movies Amanda Seyfried has been in over the last several years including Mean Girls, Dear John, Jennifer’s Body, Mamma Mia!, Red Riding Hood, and Letters to Juliet, just to name a few, it isn’t any wonder why Seyfried feels time has flown by.
Amanda’s character in her latest film, While We’re Young, is a free spirit, but Seyfried admitted to Us Weekly she couldn’t be more opposite from her character. “I’m comfortable in the familiar,” Amanda said. “I’m not a risk-taker. I’m a nester, so I’m nothing like [her]. Not in that respect.”
While Amanda Seyfried usually goes for softer style with her makeup and hair, Amanda struck a dramatic look at the premiere with her hair in a double French braid twisted into a bun. Seyfried wore a flirty red dress and topped off the look with smoldering eye makeup.
