Celine Dion Breaks Down In Tears Over Husband’s Throat Cancer Ordeal, Reveals Whether She’ll Sing Again [Video]

Trying to describe her beloved husband’s battle to overcome throat cancer, Celine Dion breaks down in tears. Because René Angélil can’t even consume food on his own, Dion revealed that she’s built her days and hours around helping him live rather than manage her own career, reported Hello.

And at 73, the increasingly frail man upon whom Celine depended not just as her partner in marriage, but as her manager, is losing the battle, she fears.

“He can’t eat, so I feed him. He’s got a feeding tube. I have to feed him three times a day.”

However, Celine wants to make it clear that they share a resolution to become survivors, not victims, of cancer.

“We are taking it one day at a time. But we are choosing to live.”

This ordeal marks the second time that Rene has battled with cancer, according to the Daily Mail. During that first diagnosis of throat cancer in 1999, Dion exited the stage to nurse her husband as well.

Rene and Celine appeared together on Katie Couric’s talk show to discuss their marriage and life, prior to the second battle with throat cancer.

In addition to her husband, revealed Dion, she’s focusing on taking care of her children right now.

The 46-year-old mom has a pair of twins who are 4-years-old, little Eddy and Nelson. Their oldest child is 14-years-old, and named after his dad, Rene-Charles.

So, the question that fans are asking is whether their beloved singer will return to the stage. Her rep has responded with a harmonious affirmative. Celine is scheduled to light up the Caesars Palace Las Vegas in August, returning her residency there with an energized revamped act.

That return to the stage will mark a year since Dion’s statement announcing that Rene’s ill health had made her decide to abandon her residency. She released that initial announcement on August 13, 2014.

“I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband’s healing, and to do so, it’s important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children. I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support.”

As to Rene’s precise prognosis, Celine did not go into additional details. Certain forms of cancer are more deadly, and as the Inquisitr reported, the world recently mourned as tiny 4-year-old, Jalene Salinas, recently lost her own battle with cancer after having her last wish fulfilled by Taylor Swift.
