Taylor Momsen, Gossip Girl star and singer of overtly grungy band The Pretty Reckless, had a whole new look when she attended the Marchesa show at New York Fashion Week.

On stage, Momsen dons heavy eye make-up, leather jackets, ripped jeans and goth boots. In New York, she used heavy eye make-up, black lace and a LBD to produce a far more demure appearance. Indeed, she could easily have passed for 28, rather than her actual age of 18, thanks to a sheer neckline and a blonde bun that made her look far more adult.

Speaking to FHM about her outfit, Momsen said:

“I love stripper shoes and I always try to find the tallest ones. I’m always surprised no one talks about my shoes. I’m on stage in 15-inch heels but people talk more about my eye make-up, which has stayed the same forever. I always think that’s funny. I’m 5’8”. So I’m really tall. I got into heels when I was little, though. My mum’s really short so she always wears really tall heels and I used to steal them and now it’s just a part of my everyday life.”

At the Marchesa show, Momsen hobnobbed with the likes of former wrestler (and George Clooney’s girlfriend) Stacy Keibler, and Big Fashion Names like Rachel Zoe, Olivia Palermo and Bar Rafaeli. Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour was also inevitably there, as was film producer Harvey Weinstein.

Momsen played Jenny Humphrey in Gossip Girl until the middle of last year, before quitting to focus on her music career. Since taking to the stage with her band, Momsen has cultivated a look that is several country miles from her appearance above:
